VIP Eyes is a locally owned and operated optical shop located in Portland, ME. Established in 1989, VIP Eyes specializes in providing prescription eyeglasses at reasonable prices.

Warranties for Prescription Eye Glasses

At VIP Eyes, our goal is for you to be satisfied with your purchase. The following warranties are meant to be guidelines. If you have a specific need or special situation, please let us know, and we will try to accommodate you.

  • All eyeglass frames (except clearance) are warrantied for one year from the purchase date to be free from manufacturer defects. Some frames are warrantied for longer. The use of super glue on any eyewear voids all warranties.
  • Plastic lenses with a scratch resistant coating are warrantied for one year from the date of purchase to be free from defects in said coating. This warranty does not cover abuse of the lenses, and application of the warranty is subject to our approval.
  • Anti-reflective lenses are warrantied for 18 months from the date of purchase to be free from defects. This warranty covers scratches that occur to the lens. Abuse of the lens is not covered. Application of this warranty is subject to our approval.
  • Changes to your prescription are sometimes unavoidable. To that end, VIP Eyes offers to remake any doctor’s prescription (six months or newer) that must be changed. If the prescription is changed within 60 days of the date of purchase, we will remake it at no cost. From 61 days to 120 days, we will remake the lenses for 50% off.
